9th Entry - Long Beach
The song goes “I Left My Heart In San Francisco,” well then this must be my heart:

Because after purchasing two new pairs of sneakers @ the outlets, I put these in the garbage. I would usually donate them but they were pretty run down. These are rare now, for some reason. Oh well...
Kalake, her cousin and I left San Francisco via an airplane and went to Long Beach. Kalake had purchased a LivingSocial deal for a hotel with Brazilian buffet voucher.
The hotel had just renovated half of it’s rooms. Here are some shots of our nicely decorated room:
In the bathroom was a shirt and tie towel, for getting to business.
Nice size shower with interesting vertical shower head placement.
There was a little stool/foot rest in there, nice stuff. Also my favorite feature of this bathroom was the high sink. Almost everywhere I have to bend down to wash my hands, this sink I could just stand there and wash, very nice.
King size bed with art work behind. Tall back chair in the corner and there was a little desk space again with an orange chair.
There’s the desk and mini fridge.
We were driven to our Zipcar which was on the Long Beach University campus. And off we went to Los Angeles.
Chinatown and Little Tokyo are right next to one another.
We parked and went to the Grammy Museum.
Here I am wearing my new sneakers in front of the Grammy Museum. Unfortunately photography was not allowed in side of the museum. It was nice inside.
A few blocks away we found a designer furniture store which was newly opened.
The guitar was rockin’ the couch. The couch’s price was around four thousand. lol
I liked this tall back brown one. These tall back designs made me think that in L.A. this is the thing - tall back chairs/couches.
In case you need to roll out.

Dinner time:
Our new friend suggested this destination for dinner: Umami Burger. Which has a fusion of Japanese delights and burgers.
Kalake ordered the Ahi Tuna Burger with potato smashers pictured above this burger.
I ordered the Maui Chicken burger with sweet potato fries. The fries come with the restaurants’ signature ketchup, good stuff.
Also in the photo are Smushed Potatoes and regular fries. Very yummy. :n d
We even ate the [gluten] buns, they were so good! ![]()
It’s dessert time [friend suggest] SCOOPS ice cream.

Those are not [both] mine. I ordered Cheesecake Cookies & Cream and Maple Cappuccino, and Kalake ordered Apple Pie and Raspberry White Chocolate Swirl [soy based].
Giant spoons for decoration/ceiling fixture, cute.
Vain religion. :P
Next stop Griffiths Observatory
Best I can do from the distance and in the dark without a tripod.
Kalake and her cousin on the right.

The view.
I was able to open up the lens and rest the camera on a sturdy base. It’s not this bright out there.
More like this.
See you tomorrow off to bed...
